My friend’s late today because “traffic’s a bitch and I’m still waiting for my bus.”
Well, is it my fault that traffic’s a bitch? Doesn’t everyone know that traffic tends to get heavy around 5 – 8 pm everyday? It’s called peak hour. Or is it only today that traffic’s heavy. And is it my fault that you’re waiting for you bus? Do you honestly expect me to buy that excuse?
You could have just left your house earlier so in order to make it ON TIME. On top of that, if you left your house earlier, then you’ll probably not STILL BE WAITING FOR THE BUS will you.
Or probably not. people tend to have a low locus of control. I stand corrected, people tend to have a low locus of control when they are looking for excuses. Traffic’s a bitch – not your fault. The bus is not coming – not your fault.
Don’t give me some lame ass excuse that you thought I’d be late because explicitly said that I was not going to be late. To top it off, I told you in explicit terms that I didn’t want to have to wait and that you should come on time. And you agreed.
Bitch.
I love arguments along the line of “I expect others to be late, therefore, I should come late so that I will not have to wait.”
That’s a fucking selfish argument, study it closely enough and you’ll see that the essence of that argument is that of self worth – inflated self worth. That it’s okay for others to wait because then, they’re doing the waiting, not you. Which essentially means that you believe your time is more valuable than the time of others and therefore, you are worth more than them.
What ever, I have 2 presentations tomorrow, I have a submission due on Friday and I’m still making the time to meet you.
This is the second coming of the return of the rise of the revivial of the resurrection of the... Okay, you should be getting the drift by now.
